Area singers invited to join “Instant Ordway Chorus” for Oct. 23 concert

The Ordway Center for Performing Arts is touring one of their most popular productions: “Ordway’s Broadway Songbook on Tour: The First 100 Years of Broadway.” As part this greater Minnesota tour to Memorial Auditorium in Dawson, area singers are invited to join an “Instant Ordway Chorus” and be part of the October 23 concert. Singers will rehearse the week of the performance and sing with the cast during the finale of the concert.

The chorus is open to all vocalists in the area who are interested in this unique opportunity. Rehearsals will be from 7-8 on Monday, October 20; Wednesday, October 22 from 7-8 and on Thursday, October 23 at 5:30pm. All rehearsals will be held at Memorial Auditorium in Dawson.

Comedian Roger Radley has been performing comedy from coast to coast for twenty-five years and along the way he has shared the stage  with the likes of Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, George Carlin, B.B. King, Waylon Jennings, and Paula Poundstone. He won two national talent contests and has been featured on NPR, A&E and Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend.” His humor draws upon the values and experiences of  a farm boy growing up in Wisconsin. Roger likes to think of himself as the “Funniest Former Farmer” in the United States.

The Sutter Brothers have performed all over Minnesota and beyond— from Sandstone’s Quarry Days to the International Poetry Forum in Pittsburgh, from the Big Top Chautauqua in Bayfield, Wisconsin to the Fitzgerald Theatre in Saint Paul. In their new show, Bart and Ross emphasize their rural, small-town roots and Scandinavian heritage. Bart’s original, award-winning poems blended with Ross’ arrangements of folk music evoke the landscape, critters, and quirky characters of rural Minnesota, spanning the human experience, from comedy to tragedy.
