Celebration of Strings at Memorial Auditorium on May 20

Artaria posterThe Artaria String Quartet of St. Paul is completing an artist residency with the Dawson-Boyd High School string program and will be sharing their work in a concert this Wednesday, May 20 at 7:00 pm at the Memorial Auditorium.

Adults are $5 Students are $3.

The concert will feature high school students, an adult string ensemble and music by Artaria String Quartet.

roger_radleyWhat do farm gangs, weather warnings, and William Shakespeare as an ice fisherman have in common ?  They are part of the comedy of Roger Radley.

Roger Radley is a Wisconsin native who has been performing his comedy for nearly 30 years from Atlantic City to Honolulu. Sharing the stage with the likes of George Carlin, B.B. King, Tom Jones, Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash,  Roger Radley has performed at casinos, colleges and corporate events all over the United States. A unique comedy talent Roger Radley will share his views on rural life, parenting, sports and the loss of common sense. A winner of the American Dream World Finals Comedy Contest sponsored by Donald Trump,  Roger has also been featured on National Public Radio and produced commercials for radio and TV.

Roger Radley will take you on a rollicking trip down the human highway with his comedy. It is a show that has been described as, “…true, honest and accessible. If you could combine Louis CK  with a Cheesehead then you would have the comedy of Roger Radley.”

Harpist Stephanie Claussen to perform free concert Sunday afternoon in Dawson

Claussen_posterHarpist Stephanie Claussen of St. Paul will present a concert this Sunday, January 11 at 3:00pm at Memorial Auditorium in Dawson. Claussen, a recipient of an Arts Tour Minnesota grant through the Minnesota State Arts Board, is touring to five cities in Minnesota to present a concert, along with a question and answer session and optional harp lessons for interested musicians.

Claussen specializes in Early and Renaissance harp music. She earned her Bachelors of Music in Performance at the University of Minnesota under the instruction of Kathy Kienzle, principal harpist of the Minnesota Orchestra. She has performed with numerous symphony orchestras and collaborated as a folk and Irish harpist at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. Her diverse repertoire includes classical, folk, pop, sacred and early music for the harp.

There is no charge to attend this concert.
